A Tale of Two NAZIS ©
NAZI Swastika

The objective of this article is to demonstrate a Biblical truth and is not intended merely as a history lesson. I will provide a little history of two characters that belonged to the NAZI Party so that the reader will see who they were. Many have not understood or considered the truth I am going to share in this message and most have a tendency to ignore what the Bible’s entire message is about anyway!
The acronym NAZI comes from NSDAP which stands for NationalSozialistische Deutsche ArbeiterPartei and translated in English is National Socialistic German Worker’s Party. The names of the two former NAZIS are Dr. Wernher von Braun and Albert Speer. Some know who these two were and I suspect many do not so I will make sure the reader is somewhat familiar with them. Once the history lesson is over I want to point out their similarities and ultimately the major difference between these two characters. I feel I have researched their biographical information sufficiently to reach a conclusion that is to be used only to emphasize a major Biblical truth.
Both of these men joined the NAZI party in order to be allowed to successfully pursue their careers during the time in NAZI Germany while Adolf Hitler was in control. Hitler, as most should know, was an incredibly cruel, self-centered, power hungry, racist, megalomaniacal dictator for the better part of 12 years in Germany from 1933-1945. The NAZI party also committed many crimes while in power. NAZI-ism and any form of it today is totally against true Christianity not to mention Judaism. Remember the Holocaust and the concentration camps? The number of people who were killed during World War II and under the control of the NAZI Party is very large and some have suggested the number exceed 60 million although over 50 million deaths have definitely been accounted for. Credit Hitler and the NAZI Party, along with the German people who legally elected the NAZI Party as the majority, for the war crimes.
Wernher von Braun
Dr. Wernher Magnus Maximilian Freiherr von Braun , 1912-1977, got his PHD in physics and was used by the NAZI Party to develop a large rocket called V2 loaded with explosives. These rockets were used as terror weapons and were fired mostly onto London and Antwerp during the war. Many thousands of people were killed or maimed. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/V-2_rocket
To supply workers in the manufacturing facility of these rockets, the NAZIS provided slave labor mainly from a nearby concentration camp called Mittelbau-Dora. When slave labor was used by the NAZIS it generally resulted in a large number of the inmates dying from exhaustion, by being underfed and with severe mistreatment. Braun was aware of this yet he continued to work on these rockets. He did protest one time and briefly went to prison but was released soon to go back to work. At the end of the war in Europe, US officials gathered up Braun and a number of his engineers and scientists and some rockets and took them to the US. The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) was formed under his leadership. He was responsible for putting US astronauts in space and on the moon.

Albert Speer
Berthold Konrad Hermann Albert Speer, 1905-1981, finished school as an architect. He was noticed by the NAZI leadership especially by Dr. Josef Goebbels, the Reich Minister of Propaganda, and ultimately by Adolf Hitler. He worked side-by-side with Hitler as his friend and personal architect and eventually became the Reich Minister of Armaments and War Production. After the war, at the Nuremberg trials, he said he was sorry for the crimes. He was convicted mainly for using forced labor and became the “NAZI who said sorry.” He could have been hung on the gallows but was given a sentence of 20 years which he served in Spandau Prison. Since Speer was involved in all phases of war production of which a number of the factories used slave labor, he surely must have known all about the concentration camp system and the use of slave labor. He must have lied at the trial by saying he knew nothing about it. He never took personal responsibility or expressed remorse. Records were found some years after WWII that incriminated Speer and revealed his total involvement in the NAZI atrocities.

Similarities between the two NAZIS
It is apparent to me that both characters had full knowledge of the atrocities committed by the use of slave labor and should have known about the concentration camp system. Even though the record shows that Braun protested about the use of slave labor and Speer did not, that still should make both of them equal in guilt and complicity. Braun continued with his work the same as Speer letting the NAZIS provide slave labor. People died horrible deaths under the influence and leadership of both of them by the use of their product and slave labor.
What do we need to do?
It is necessary to understand salvation before we look at the differences between these two former NAZIS. We all need to repent of our sins and seek forgiveness via the death of Jesus Christ on the cross. We need to accept this free gift of eternal life through this sacrifice of Jesus through belief in Him that He will take away and forgive our sins and then to trust in Him that He will allow us to spend eternity with Him. We need to believe He rose from the dead. Nothing else is needed. It is like being pardoned in front of a judge during a court trial from a death sentence and given freedom to go. Jesus Christ has stepped in to take our place. He accepted our death sentence instead, took on all our sins and has ascended to Heaven waiting for us.
Differences between the two NAZIS
Wernher von Braun accepted Christ as his personal savior in 1962 when an engineer led him to Christ. There is no record that I can find of Albert Speer accepting Christ. So what does this mean? We as believers should look for Braun spending eternity in Heaven with his sins forgiven. I am not going to say that Speer is not in Heaven but like I say there is no record I can find. Whether Speer made it to Heaven or not, the life comparison between these two men is somewhat equal in that they both committed atrocities by allowing slave labor called crimes against humanity (although Speer should have been more involved than Braun).
Either former NAZI was offered the same gift of eternal life no matter what! So the major difference between the two in my estimation appears to be that von Braun became a believer in Jesus Christ and accepted that free gift.

Believe it or not, even Adolf Hitler had the same chance!!
That is very difficult to swallow! Search the Scriptures and you will find that salvation is offered to all and is based solely on belief, repentance and taking on a new life by allowing Jesus Christ into one’s life. No amount of so-called personal good works saves (Ephesians 2:8-9). Also you cannot buy your way into Heaven!
All the evil actions and all manner of sin you commit cannot prevent you from believing and obtaining the gift of salvation. Not accepting the free gift of salvation is the way of perdition (John 3:16).
Judgment is for Non Believers, not Believers
As a believer, the way you live your life will determine the amount of reward you receive in the end
(2 Corinthians 5:10) but the amount of eternal punishment for non believers is also based on how they lived their lives (Revelation 20:11-15).
