Agree and Disagree
This is not an article about “Agree to Disagree.” Simply expressing that concept does not always work with me. Sure, I agree that others that disagree with what the Bible is simply saying have the right to disagree, but I want to reveal and put to rest some misconceptions about the use of some words and terms that Biblical Creationists still believe to be useful. I feel that various good words used in the English language (and other languages) have received an improper connotation and should not be used uniquely to express one’s worldview. One of these words is evolution, the first one I cover. Macro evolution (Terms we do not agree on) is one of the proper terms that should be used to describe what Darwinian Evolutionists mean when they believe in a humanistic worldview (man’s) in contrast to a proper Biblical Worldview.
I am going to use the pronoun “we” to mean Biblical Creationists of which I am one. Also, I am going to use the word “secular” to denote man’s viewpoint. There are two worldviews prevalent in our society. One is man’s worldview and the other is a Biblical worldview. These two are usually always in total opposition to one another.
Many terms adopted by the secularists (in other words, they think they own them) can be used by Biblical Creationists but it depends entirely how these terms are used. I venture to say that some Biblical Creationists are afraid to use these terms that I list.
I will divide this article into two headings; first, “Terms we agree on” and second, “Terms we do not agree on.” Finally, I will include what we as Biblical Creationists believe under the heading, “What do we believe.”
Terms we agree on
Evolution – we agree that there is a type of evolution going on today and has always been. The difference is evolution usually should always be confined within one species of an animal. This usually takes the form of adaption as noted in the next paragraph. Scripture plainly states in Genesis 1 that God created living things after their kind, not specie. Refer to the page titled “We Need Clear Up The Word Species.” Changes in animals within one kind are obvious – not changing of species that cross from one kind to another. We don’t agree with macroevolution pertaining to God’s Creation (see the next heading “Terms we do not agree on” for macroevolution). The ability for an organism to "evolve" to another similar type is built into its DNA from the very beginning by our Creator. It did not simply evolve from a lower life form as secularists believe.
Adaptation – Species under all kinds of created living things have built in them by our Creator the ability to adapt to varying world conditions. This ability comes from DNA previously constructed by God and was pre-planned from the very beginning even before each living creature was created. That is why we see so many variations of creatures e.g., white foxes in the arctic regions where there is a lot of snow versus brown or silver foxes in other areas of the world where snow is not prevalent. A fox is a fox and nothing else. It is related to the dog kind.
Survival of the Fittest – This should be obvious to all of us. We compete as humans all over the globe. A good example is sports – the better trained, smarter, quicker, stronger, better healthy we are, the more chance we have to succeed. There is no difference in the rest of God’s creation for competition. Today, the competition we are seeing comes after the fall of man. Using the term "survival of the fittest" to enforce macro evolution is where we draw the line. In a fallen, sinful world competition can be fierce and brutal totally unlike what God originally intended for His Creation. The world was created perfectly and totally harmoniously until sin entered it through the fall of man. This term is improperly used to promote the evolutionary idea that a better so-called specie evolved by the elimination (death) of a weaker rival.
Terms we do not agree on
Origin of Species – This is a term Darwin used in the title of his book. We can only agree that species originated under each kind of God’s Creation. The universal use of the term species is misleading because many would have us to believe all or most species evolved from one to another even crossing kinds. We believe that never happened from one kind to another. I believe that the term could be “Origin of Kinds” to be consistent with what Scripture clearly states. During the Creation Week groups of living things were created after their kind. Also we humans do not have an origin in common with other kinds and furthermore Scripture never uses the word kinds when Adam and Eve were created.
The use of the words specie or kind should never be associated with Mankind!
Macro evolution - this term refers to all of Creation evolving by the overall process of what secularists say is "evolution" from one specie to another without regard to kinds. The secularists would have us to believe that everything originally evolved by chance from some primordial soup or from minerals (rocks) and from very a primitive life form up to what we see today. Some go so far as to say "Molecules to man."We do not believe we all evolved from a common ancestor and that goes for the rest of Creation. The so-called "Big Bang Theory" is included along with this term. Also, along with "macro evolution" and the "big bang theory", secularists desperately need for the earth and universe to be old. Check out these articles from Answers in Genesis. These fantasies from man’s imagination say that everything is getting better when we know that is false. Entropy is the proper term we should use and is a part of the Second Law of Thermodynamics that says “The entropy of an isolated system not in equilibrium will tend to increase over time, approaching a maximum value at equilibrium.” In other words, we are going down as time goes on. Our human DNA has mutations added from generation to generation and that includes the rest of Creation. Here is an article on DNA at Answers in Genesis. I discuss that we are not getting better in my other website titled “Know Your True Origins; The Antediluvian and Postdiluvian World.”

A number of articles in this website describe what we believe. Look under Genesis Articles 1 & 2 and Apologetics 1 & 2. True Creationists should have no problem believing the “Statement of Faith found at Answers in Genesis.”
